WE’LL ADMIT IT – WE WERE A LITTLE INTIMIDATED
Bob Jones, Paul Cain, Bobby Conners, John Paul Jackson, Shaun Boltz, Ray Hughes, Todd Bentley, Paul Keith Davis and many, many others too numerous to mention. How would you like to follow them? This group in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho has had all of these speakers in to do teaching, or this group has been directly exposed to their teaching. This group is a training center for the Body of Christ, led by Kari and Mike Browning. Just last weekend they merged with a local church and are now called Gateway Christian Fellowship and International Training Center. We truly believe this is a merger with God’s hand on it. And there is such a hungry group here and in the surrounding communities and this group is doing such an incredible job of bringing much needed, anointed teaching to the area – and there is definitely the formings of an Open Heaven there.
So, as we began Friday night for this weekend of Healing and Deliverance Training, I publically admitted what we were both feeling – what could we possibly bring to this group that they didn’t already know. Of course, the reality in hindsight is that we brought a slightly different slant to things, you can never get enough training, and we did something that isn’t always done—we did clinic. People got a chance to actually pray for the sick, people got the chance to lead someone to freedom, and people were empowered thru the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I like to start the healing teaching by demonstrating the power of God to heal. And in His grace, the two people I brought up with pain in their wrist weren’t used to this and didn’t pray for the sick – so I had them turn around after being healed to pray for someone else. And God came thru them too. Actually, I had set the theme for the weekend by saying “after this weekend you’ll say, if God can use HIM, I know He can use ME!” And here God was already raising up some more “‘lil ole me’s.”
After the teaching on the 5 Step Healing model, we broke into groups of 3-5 to practice praying for the sick. As we are seeing so often, about 75% of the people had some sort of pain or sickness in their bodies and needed healing. Once again, I was concerned that there would be people here who had done so much of this that this would be boring to them, but there were so many others that this was new for, and what we were doing was to make a safe environment for them to practice. I can remember doing exercises like this in prophecy under Wes Campbell, and it was so helpful. And maybe best of all for this evening, many people got healed and people were amazed at how God moved thru them.
GET USED TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT COMING
During the day Saturday, Carol taught on deliverance, and during the ministry time, 75% of the people indicated they had an issue come up and wanted prayer for freedom. Then, that night I taught on words of knowledge for healing and many people got words for the first time—and they were accurate and people got healed! The evening ended in a full-blown renewal meeting. We were prophesying (they’ve had so much teaching on this that there was a corporate anointing there for prophecy), people were shaking and falling, and people were being transformed. At one point we prayed for the pastors of the church, John and Ruth. I was later told that where I had them was like an open portal and the power of God always was stronger there – sure was! And then I prophesied something I didn’t know. I told John that he was going to become well acquainted with the fire department because there would be times when people would think the church was on fire and would call them. What I didn’t know was those exact words had been spoken over them years ago. Hmmmmmmm. It’s time!
RUINED FOR ANYTHING BUT REVIVAL
I think – no, I know – there was a lot of changing going on with people, and there was some breaking in the Spirit. The other pastor couple, Tom and Theresa, who had joined with this group for this training got radically touched Saturday night and the next day as Carol spoke in their church, they had a change and transformation in their church. And when John got up to speak Sunday morning, he was still shaking from the previous night, and he couldn’t speak. Then, Mike, mild mannered Mike, got up and boldly encouraged this group to go further with God. Kari said she had never seen him so bold.
Well, we loved being with this group. They were so hungry. They’ve sown into revival and they are pursuing an open heaven. There are some very anointed people in this group and they are continuing to seek training and equipping, recognizing there are many different styles to bring healing and deliverance. We were so blessed to be with them. I would encourage you to check out this area as they continue to bring in anointed speakers and hold conferences in the future. Next week, we return to the Seattle area, doing a house meeting Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, and speaking at Gig Harbor Foursquare Church Sunday morning and evening. We will be in Santa Rosa, CA the following weekend and this training and equipping weekend will qualify someone for going with Randy Clark on any of the foreign missions trips.
