SO SORE YOU COULD NOT EVEN TOUCH HER!
We have just finished teaching and training at the Presbiteriana Renovada church and are now at the Apostolica Reconstruir Church. Randy Clark and his team of approximately 140 are now in Belem, and will be joining us here in Fortaleza next Wednesday the 15th. This Presbyterian church is located four doors down from a major Spiritist Center, and is in the same neighborhood with a major Macumba Center. So, we recognized that there was a little warfare. But that did not stop God. I love it when the power of God is so strong, that a story like the first one becomes almost an afterthought. On Wednesday night, the last night, they brought me to a woman during ministry time. She had intestinal surgery 2 ½ moths ago, still had much pain and the doctors were telling her she would just have to bear it. Every time she moved it hurt, and you could tell it on her face. In fact, the people went out of their way to make sure that I did not lay hands on her because you could not even touch her without causing pain. So, I had her lay her hands gently on her lower abdomen, and I had two young Brazilian women, Nila and Carol, barely touch her hands. I led them all in prayer, and after a few minutes asked how she was doing. This huge smile emerged as she realized all the burning pain had left. She then stood up with no discomfort and walked off praising, perfectly healed.
TWO YEAR ABDOMINAL PROBLEM HEALED. SURGERY CANCELED!
Now, this is the story I want to focus on. About two years ago Angela, the wife of the pastor, was prayed for with the laying on of hands by someone who turned out to be practicing Macumba. Immediately after that she developed severe abdominal problems. Raises all kinds of questions about letting just anyone lay hands on you does it not, but I do not have any answers. They know it was a direct result of this prayer encounter, as she had never had these kinds of problems before. It got so bad at one point recently that she had a bowel obstruction which prevented her from going to the bathroom for two months! That is a major problem! The doctors wanted to do surgery but she kept saying God would heal her. With much swelling and pain she came to the last church we were at, Batista Peniel. One of the things we have done is to put the people in groups of 5 during the ministry time to have them pray for each other—to practice what they have just learned. A woman named Monica prayed for Angela last week and she has had no pain since!! God raised up a little ole me who probably does not even know how God used her. Then Angela told us she was scheduled for surgery on Thursday the 9th. Needless to say, she canceled the surgery!
HEALING ANGELS IN OUR MIDST!
We are currently in a great church, Apolostica Reconstruir. The pastors have pressed in for more of God, and this five year old church is believing that they will soon build on the power of God from their current number of about 500 to 2000. The power of God was so strong the first night. They have had it prophesied before, and I ended up saying the same things to them again in confirmation, that they would grow on signs, wonders and miracles. They have had only one dramatic healing, and very little else but that Thursday night, 108 were healed thru words of knowledge! On the second night, when we broke into groups of five, there was an 81 year old man who had been hit by a car, had broken his leg and arm, and was told by the doctor he would never walk normally again. He had to use a cane and he was in a lot of pain. He got a lot of prayer, and at one point got up and walked with no help. Interestingly, afterwards, a young girl of about 12 came up to us crying and very afraid. She had seen a large angel holding his hand while he was being prayed for, and it had scared her. We tried to tell her how special that was, but it will take some getting used to for her. But what a gift. And how comforting to know the angels were in the meeting with us.
NO NEED FOR THE GLASS EYE!
Then, last night as we went into ministry again, I had the pastors and us pray for the blind, deaf, cancer and terminal illnesses. I had prophesied Thursday that the wife of the pastor would be the catalyst for healing in this church, and it was immediately borne out in ministry. I had her pray for this little old lady who had blindness, some deafness, and difficulty walking. Within minutes the woman was yelling and walking all around. She had not even been able to see some flags 10 feet away, and now she could describe the colors and all the features. Ears opened, and all her pain left!! Then, the anointing just poured out like the floodgates had been opened. Raimunda was scheduled to have her left eye replaced by a glass eye next month—not now, she can see! I prayed for Neide and Anna Maria at the same time, with others helping, for deafeness and both got up from the floor hearing whispers—something they definitely could not do before. And Carol prayed for a man on dialysis, awaiting a kidney transplant. His color returned, all the pain left, and he felt like for the first time in a month, he needed to urinate. He looked completely different. WOW. The power was so strong! What a way to end our training Our last official meeting before the team gets here is Sunday night in a Baptist church. Once the team arrives, we will be breaking up into teams on Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Sunday night. On Friday and Saturday night, Randy will lead a large gymnasium event where we are expecting crowds of 10,000 each night.
HEALING SCHOOL—TAKING THE POWER TO THE MARKETPLACE
Upon returning home, I will be conducting a healing service at our home church, CLC in Vacaville, while Carol leads a women’s retreat for The Father’s House in Stockton. And in October, we will conduct our first Healing School, in San Diego. This school, October 14-16, will focus on taking the power of God into the marketplace with prayers for healing. On Saturday afternoon, we will go out into the marketplace and put into practice what we have learned, and gather back that night to share the SPOILS OF WAR. A FEW OBSTACLES
What a different atmosphere we walked into as we prepared to minister in the third church, Evangelho Pleno, here in Fortaleza, Brazil. They came out of a Baptist tradition 13 years ago, have been actively pursuing the Holy Spirit for years, and are a G-12 church and understand the power of the Spirit for healing and deliverance. The church facility did offer us a challenge, however. Fixed seats, theater style, only about 10 feet of open front area, and a neighbor who didn’t like them and would complain about noise anytime after 10 PM. We did have an area behind the platform, thankfully, where we could send the people for ministry on the second and third nights.
“SPARKS” WERE LITERALLY FLYING
I felt like God wanted to once again demonstrate healing before I taught on it, but we didn’t have any words when we entered the church. God, are you on this or is this just me? It was Him, words flowed during worship. God once again proved himself faithful, as we had at least 75 healed during the time of prayer over them. This gift of words of knowledge has been somewhat new to the other 2 churches, but this church was familiar with the gift. It also helped to get people to respond when the pastor’s wife stood on the first word—kind of broke the dam. It also helped, especially my faith that we really were hearing from God, when several people responded to a word about a tree injury, and pain in the left ankle because of a sports injury. Later, when we went into ministry time, I just called on the Spirit to fall all over the room—there was no way to get to the people and there was no room for them to come forward. I did end up calling out several people and also prayed for all the pastors. While doing this a very unusual thing happened, that has never happened to me before. While touching my back in intercession while I prayed for people, Carol began feeling “sparks.” Electricity was going thru both of us—I felt it too, and it was actually strong enough to be uncomfortable. Others said they also felt the sparks and power. In hindsight, I think I was supposed to do more that night with it, but I wanted to be sensitive to time and the noise factor. Oh God, another chance, please.
TO THE “MAX”
It’s the stories of people getting changed and transformed that make this so worthwhile. At the end of the first night, they brought Max to me. A drug addict. This night was to be about anointing for healing, not doing deliverance. But the need is right there. So, I did a quick deliverance. You wonder if anything happens. The next night, he looked COMPLETELY different. He got a word of knowledge for healing and prayed for someone who got healed. Then the person turned around and prayed for him, and he got healed!! On the second night, after the teaching on how to pray for the sick, a young man also named Max, came to Carol and me and asked if he could pray for his wife and others for healing if he wasn’t a Christian. We encouraged him to give his life to Jesus then and now, but he said he was waiting until his birthday in September and would become a Christian then. After Carol spoke a little on the fact that man only has today and tomorrow is promised to no one, he gave his life to Christ. I then prayed for him and his wife to be filled. Both had an experience of the Holy Spirit touching them. Both were back the last night—on the front row. On the third night, after Carol taught on deliverance, it has been our custom to have them pray for one another again, while we pray for anyone deaf, blind, or terminally ill. A woman with aids came to me. She had at one time been confined to a wheelchair, but has gotten better enough to walk and function on her own now—but the tests still show the virus is active in her body. This night, the fire of God touched every part of her body, and she is believing she is healed. I usually only like to tell the stories of the ones who we KNOW are healed, but in this case, we’re believing with her. Would you also pray and believe for Theresa, and I will follow up with her and issue the “good report” when she gets it. Next, we move on to a Baptist church, and are expecting great things as this church has been moving in the power of the Holy Spirit for three years now, and they are excited about these meetings.
