5 Deaf Healed!!

THE PLACE EXPLODED
After doing the first of four training sessions last week, we spoke to a group of about 100 pastors and leaders Sunday morning. Carol gave a message to encourage them in what God is doing thru the cell church. When she finished, I honestly don’t know what happened, but the place exploded. They started rushing toward the front, praying, shaking, weeping, falling. For about the next 45 minutes, it was holy bedlam as they all seemed to be desperately hungry for a touch from God. Then, Sunday night we spoke in a church and basically held a healing service. It was all about the power of the testimony. As I told a story about a certain ailment being healed, I then had everyone who had a similar problem stand and we prayed over them. Healing was so easy and nearly everyone who stood got healed!
DRAMATIC HEALING–RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!
What a difference having the next training in the leader’s church made. There were lots of them, they were hungry and excited about the training, and they have made the commitment to be with us at the two crusade meetings to help the US team pray. Before going in to give the “Biblical Basis of Healing” message, I felt God said to have them stand when they felt His anointing healing them, and to also stand if they felt His presence for the anointing for healing. About half way thru the message nobody had stood and I felt God say “many have felt my presence but they’re waiting for someone else to stand.” I communicated this in a way so as to not be manipulative and went back to teaching. After a couple of minutes, it seemed like a wave crashed over the entire room of 300+. More than 75% of them suddenly stood–shaking, crying out, weeping. After the message, we asked and more than 150 stood and said they had been healed. I interviewed several who said they had their condition more than 5 years. I went to one man who said his arm had been in pain and immobile for more than five years. He was able to move it up, with what looked like some difficulty to me, to about shoulder height. I thought to myself “well ok, he wants to testify and it’s good that something happened for him, but he isn’t exactly completely healed.” I put my hand on his shoulder and thanked God for what He had done and to complete the work. As I was walking back to the front, Carol and my interpreter had me turn back around. There he stood–his arm completely stretched out over his head!! It was one of the most dramatic things I’ve seen in a long time. Oh, and to top it off, he had the smell of alcohol on him. He was one of these little old, weather-beaten men, probably a street person, who had found himself in this meeting–and the mercy and grace of a loving God touched him. Wow.
ALL 5 DEAF HEALED!!
We taught on the healing model and how to recognize words of knowledge for healing the next night. At the end of the teaching we had them break into small groups of five to pray for each other. We had more than 50 people healed, once again the majority of them when someone who had never prayed for anyone before prayed. Everything from ear aches, back pain, sore throats to breast tumors disappearing. One man even said he got healed of pain in his…..he used a slang term for a very private part of his anatomy. Oh well, if it’s your pain, you want to testify no matter how intimate. The next night, Carol taught and gave just the briefest overview of deliverance. We ended once again with a time of having them pray for the sick, while we and the pastors prayed for the deaf, blind, cancer and terminal cases. We had five deaf people come for prayer and ALL five got healed!! One man had been deaf for over 20 years. Wow. Wow.
WE LOST CONTROL OF THE MEETINGS–TWICE
For the next set of training we were in the same church we had started in on Sunday night last week. Once again, as I taught on a “Biblical Basis.” I had them stand when they felt the anointing for healing or being healed. I only got thru half the message before on two occasions, it was like a wave hit the congregation and it seemed like they all stood up for me to bless them. It was so passionate, so strong, and sustained. Yelling in tongues, shaking, weeping. After the second time that I had basically lost control of the meeting, I stopped the teaching. After all, God had just confirmed the teaching on healing and being anointed for healing. We frankly wondered if this was just emotion, but more than 102 of the 250+ indicated they had been healed. The next night more than 35 came to give testimonies of their healing when they prayed for each other. And on Saturday night, when we usually pray for the blind, deaf, cancer and terminal cases after the deliverance teaching, we couldn’t even get there. Carol had led them in sort of a mass deliverance and many indicated they had received freedom, so we were thanking God for what He had just done. The celebration took over and we just let it go. It was one of the loudest, most spontaneous movements we have seen in a long time. Once again as we were wondering if it was real, our translator told us he was feeling what they were expressing and wished he could be down on the floor with them. Ok, it was real!
LOOKOUT BELEM–AMERICANS COMING
Monday the 29th we start training in a place that is far from here and therefore won’t be able to come to the crusade. It’s supposed to be a very hungry place, and also very poor. The first team that is already doing meetings here in Brazil will arrive Thursday and the second team, which will continue on after Belem, will arrive Wednesday. I’ll report more later.
