Looking Back, Looking Ahead–’04, ’05

LOOKING BACK—IT WAS ABOUT IMPARTATION
I’m taking a moment to look back at this past year, and to look forward into 2005. We had an incredible year and God used us mightily in healing. There was the pastor’s 70+ year old wife, whose hand was useless to even hold a cup of coffee, restored; the young blind woman’s eyes being restored to perfect sight as Carol prayed; Carol doing two public SOZO’s and seeing the people totally set free; the 70 year old man who didn’t know Jesus and had been involved in spiritism having his blind left eye restored to perfect sight when I prayed in the Baptist church in Fortaleza, Brazil. And so many more! But this year for us was about impartation, impartation, and impartation. That is really the cry and joy of our hearts—to see someone get touched by God, come to an understanding that He really does want to use them, and then to see the expression as He pours thru them. Awesome.
THEME—GOD CAN USE ‘LITTLE OLE ME’
Hunger and passion. It’s got to be that to cause more than 100 people to come out for 6 straight nights in 2 ½ feet of snow to receive SOZO training. That’s what happened in January as we once again ministered at the Hood River Oregon Vineyard, pastored by Denny & Sue Anderson. What was so encouraging was that they really got it—that they could bring us in for an extended time of ministry and equipping, and their prayer warriors and the church would be changed. We’ve gotten the reports all throughout the year about the incredible ministry that has been taken up in this church, and the lives that have been changed. That’s going to be the theme of this report—a bunch of “little ole me’s” being raised up. Next, to Mountlake Terrace, a suburb of Seattle, with Matt and Su. They had us in twice this year and their church will never be the same because of their hunger. So much to tell, but what I remember most is the young 20+ year old woman who was holding back, not coming forward for prayer. While ministering Sunday morning, our eyes locked as she watched me from the congregation praying for someone. I motioned her to come help me, and she fell into God’s loving embrace. As God touched the person we were praying for, He also touched this young woman. Soon she was shaking, then down on the floor, but not afraid. After 45 minutes, she spoke and sung in a heavenly language, changed her work schedule to be there that night, and became a “little ole me.”
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL—TRAINING EQUIPPING, POWER
Coeur D’Alene (we go there again in April, 2005), Santa Rosa, Orangevale, Rohnert Park, Vacaville—all great meetings. Healing services started once a month at our church in Vacaville. Two medically documented cases of cancer being healed thru the prayer ministry here at our church, Christian Life Center. And we’ll be doing more healing services this next year—Jan. 30, Feb. 27, April 24 and May 29. Then it was off to our first of two trips to Brazil, this time to Sao Paulo. We went three weeks before Randy Clark and his team to train in 7 Brazilian churches to get them prepared to join the US team in a large crusade meeting of 10,000+ in a gym. At least 330 Brazilians joined us in ministering, and they saw signs, wonders and miracles just like the US team did. What was so encouraging was that there was more healing thru those who had never prayed for anyone, than thru pastors and leaders. When we were ministering in one church, a young Brazilian woman of about 23 got a little frustrated because she wanted to be prayed for by one of the US team members. But the anointing was on the Brazilians so she reluctantly agreed to have one of the Brazilian prayer team members we had trained pray for the cancerous lump protruding on her throat. Weeping with joy, she came to find us in the hospitality room after the service to show us—no lump!! And the prayer warrior—he had never prayed for anyone before. We saw this happen over and over on this trip.
“YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THAT!”
When we returned, we stepped into what we believe is to be our mandate for this next year. We taught a class on healing at a woman’s conference in Sacramento and we sent the women out into the marketplace to put into practice what they had learned. Incredible stories. Then there was the Seattle man who had been to some of our meetings. As he was checking out a lady thru the grocery line, she mentioned she was going to have heart valve surgery the next week, and how scared she was. Without stopping his checking he said “you don’t have to live like that. In the name of Jesus, heart valve be repaired.” Pretty simple, huh? The next week she came back and said the doctor didn’t know how to explain it but the valve had been healed and there was no need for surgery! Another “little ole me.” This time on the job in the supermarket. That’s a great place for revival!
BACK TO BRAZIL—BRAZILIANS EMPOWERED
Back to Brazil, this time to the Northern city of Fortaleza for 4 weeks before Randy and a team of 140 came to do meetings. We trained in 8 churches and spoke in several others. A woman’s breast tumor just disappeared and the pain left, a 12 year old deaf-mute girl since birth could hear during one meeting and began to talk. Many blind and deaf people healed as we prayed. But the most significant thing that stuck out to us, and the rest of the team when they arrived, was that almost 400 Brazilians joined the US team in prayer ministry during the 2 large gymnasium events to about 10,000 people each night. And once again, they saw the same kinds of miracles when they prayed. One man in particular stands out—John. He got radically touched in the first meeting upon our arrival in Fortaleza. He was healed of a long standing injury, got blasted by the Holy Spirit, and empowered—and hungry. He ended up coming to EVERY meeting we did, and to all the meetings once the team arrived. While we were there he led people to the Lord and went to the hospital and prayed for 5 hours for a friend—something he had never done before being touched by God. Then, one of our interpreters wrote us an email after we all left, telling us of a word of knowledge he got while getting a haircut. It was accurate and he prayed for the man and saw him healed right there in the shop! We continue to get emails from some of the friends we made and they are “doing the stuff” every day with great results. Probably the most exciting story of our two times in Brazil is the one about Taluanni (see the complete story on our website www.dewnamis.com under Reports, “Rise Up And Walk”). She is a 16 year old girl who bonded with Carol, following her during ministry. Carol had her begin to pray for the sick and they got healed. After we returned to the US, she began asking God for divine appointments out in the marketplace—to the drunks, cripples, prostitutes, even the rich. God answered her prayer and she prayed for a crippled man on the street on her way back home from English school. You’ve got to read this story—its incredible, and it will make you HUNGRY for MORE! Oh that we would all be so bold and hungry for God to use us.
“TAKIN’ IT TO THE STREETS”
After this trip to Brazil, we stepped into what we believe is on God’s heart for us this next year. We did a Healing School down in San Diego (we’ll be there again teaching on deliverance in February). What made it different is that we concentrated on praying out in the marketplace, and the goal was to actually go out and “do it!” We had several people say they didn’t want to come to the school because they knew from the description that we were going to be going out—but God had a way of persuading them. It was scary—but they did it anyway. (Our slogan is “Just do it. Sometimes we hear ‘But, I’m afraid.’ ‘Then do it afraid but JUST DO IT!!”) As we gathered back Saturday night for a celebration of the God encounters, the “Spoils Of War,” we heard one thing several times. They said “I asked to pray for this one person, but they said no. You know, I didn’t die—I just went and found someone else who DID want prayer.” It has been said about this present move of God that the first wave is about renewing the church, the second wave is about power to the streets. I think we are beginning to enter that second wave. And another word—“I’m coming to you gently now, so you’ll not be afraid when I come in power.” Get ready—I think we’re about to see awesome, incredible things when we take the power of God into the marketplace.
GOD’S HEART. WANT TO DO IT? WE’D LOVE TO PARTNER WITH YOU
Looking ahead—2005. God is pouring out His power all over the world. We hear so much about the power of God and signs and miracles in foreign countries. But He’s doing it here in the US, too. We are excited about doing these “Healing Schools To The Steets.” It’s His heart—to take the power to where the people are, rather than wait for the pre-christians to come to us in church. We already have three schools scheduled in the next 4 months. If you’d like to know more about this, check out the San Diego Report on our website, or email us at dewnamis@sbcglobal.net. We begin this next year in a great little AG church in San Bruno on January 7-9. Also, we’ll be doing the first of scheduled Healing Services at our church in Vacaville on the last Sunday of January. Check our itinerary for details. Blessings.

Jesus Jolts Japanese (And Kiwis)

Osaka, Japan
THEME-GREAT HEALING. FOCUS. POWER EVANGELISM
Wonderful, incredible healing, correct focus, and a great example of Presence evangelism!! That’s what I want to share as we have now finished our 8 day trip to Japan. We’ve been teaching and equipping this group on healing and deliverance, and have been encouraging them on the things of revival. It was an incredible, intense four days, and now Sunday night would be the last night with most of them. The group was slightly smaller, and understandably so. But it was also made up of some really hungry people
FIRST TIME FOR THIS. I CLAPPED, SHE FELL OUT
It was one of those nights when what I spoke on was fine, but it was what happened afterwards that was the main thing. Truthfully, I thought they would enjoy my message on “Out Of Your Comfort Zone To See The Miraculous,” we’d end with a fire tunnel, and make it an early evening. But when the people came out of the tunnel, they seemed to break into little groups, sitting all over the floor. I joined one group and got to pray for a couple of people . Then a little old lady came and asked me to pray for her deafness. She was 71, had gotten an ear infection when she was 3, and had to wear these large hearing aids in both ears–not real effective with them and she couldn’t hear anything without them. I had Bob translate for me (I was never able to get over this very Japanese looking guy, speaking English with a New Zealand accent). I prayed for her for a couple of minutes, then waited to see if anything happened. I clapped my hands on both sides of her head to see if she could hear–and she fell out!. So we sat down at her head and I laid one hand on one ear, and Bob laid his hand on the other ear.
FOCUS ON WHAT GOD DID DO
While soaking her and waiting to see what happened, we go to minister to another woman who came and sat down beside us. She had a degenerative disease that had already caused considerable damage to her hands, and the doctor said it would spread to her arms and shoulders, completely crippling her. Both hands had pain, she had only about 30% mobility, and couldn’t make a fist. So, we first had her renounce the word curse the doctor had put on her. He had meant well, doing the best he knew how to do medically, but it’s still a curse. Then we prayed for a couple of minutes, and checked in with her. The smile said it all, as she was able to open and close her left hand. Reporting she still had pain in her right hand, we prayed some more. God was at work. Within minutes, she was beaming, opening and closing both hands for everyone to see. And here’s a key point. One finger still wouldn’t go all the way down–but rather than concentrate on the 5% that still wasn’t healed, she chose to concentrate on the 95% that was healed. We see so many people who focus on what God didn’t do, rather than on what God DID do!
SHE CAN HEAR!! 68 YEARS OF DEAFNESS–GONE
At this point, the little old lady woke up. She just smiled at me and said in Japanese “I can hear.” The room erupted as people began to realize we were testing her because she had received her hearing back. We had her close her eyes while Bob stood off to the side and behind her, and had her repeat everything he said. 68 years of having to depend on clunky hearing aids had come to an end! She just grabbed me and we hugged as the room celebrated. And she couldn’t stop praising Jesus.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE GOT HEALED? QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS
And it gets even better. Bob has been working with a teen-twentysomething group. Christians and non-Christians. Three of the non-Christians were there that night, and we had met one of them before the meeting. He was in his early twenties, seemed mostly uninterested during the message, but was willing to go thru the fire tunnel–even several times. He would walk thru with this look on his face that said “I have no idea what this is all about, but I’ll try it.” But when the room erupted as this woman was healed, he was fairly close, and he was able to talk to Jef, our host who had put all these meetings together. He didn’t understand at first, so he had questions for Jef. “What just happened? She just got healed from deafness of 68 years. Who. That lady. She was deaf? Yes, 68 years, had to wear those big hearing aids. When did this happen? Just now. No, really, right here, just now, that woman?” And he had the hardest time understanding that she was healed right in front of everyone’s eyes. So, as we were packing up to leave, he comes to me and says “I have questions.” Yea, I bet.
I WANT THIS POWER!
Now here’s the point. He had seen the power of God, and now he wanted it. He had a felt need. He wanted to be able to go pray for his sister’s friend, who was sick. When people see the power of God, they will run toward it, not away from it!! Since he was friends with Richard, another of the leaders of this group, I told him he would answer all his questions. But since he wanted to pray for the sick, I wanted to bless him and pray for anointing. I got about half way thru, and suddenly remembered from our conversation before the meeting that he wasn’t saved yet. So, I started turning my prayer toward that direction and let Richard take over. As we walked out of the room, he had his arms upraised, accepting Jesus! And the other two–lots of questions and they’re not far behind. So many great principles here. The woman had been to all the meetings–it would have been easy to blow this one off. But she pressed in–she came to Jesus, like many of those in the Bible who were healed by Him. The woman with the painful hands gave glory to what God had done, not focusing on the fact she wasn’t completely healed yet. And power, Presence evangelism really works. This young man had heard a lot about God, and that’s necessary and good. But when he saw the power of God, he said “I want some of that power, what must I do to be saved and have it?”
MONTANA IN JANUARY–WE MUST BE CRAZY
This was such a wonderful trip, and we fell in love with Japan and the Japanese people. We got to meet and be with many anointed and hungry people who want to see revival for their country. Our next ministry trip will be to Kalispell, MT for meetings with the Vineyard there on Thursday-Saturday morning, January 12-14, and then to Helena, MT on Sunday the 15th for Sunday morning and evening meetings at Capital City Christian Fellowship. Have a great Christmas, and many blessings.
