GOD IS POURING OUT MIRACLES AT CLC
Friday night was the 4th in a series of healing
services we have been holding at our church in
Vacaville. In each meeting we have spoken briefly,
believing in the worship to usher in His presence, and
then having a concentrated time of healing ministry.
In the first one in February, I also spoke of the
prophetic picture I got back in 1998 when I saw all
the fire hydrants between my hotel and the church open
and water flowing down the streets. Never saw that
before or since. I thought it was a prophetic sign
that God was going to pour out His healing waters here
in VV. Because of many things which have happened
recently too numerous and long to go into, we all felt
like something had shifted and IT WAS TIME! And we
have been seeing that worked out in the last few
months.
3 ½ HOUR DRIVE—THAT’S DESPERATION!
This Friday I spoke on the fact that we know there is
no formula for healing, but there are usually some
common elements. One is us, being willing to take an
action to seek God. It’s a contrast to the oft
repeated mantra “If He wants to touch me (heal me,
empower me, etc) He knows where I am. I don’t have to
GO SOMEWHERE to have Him touch me.” But is that true?
Yes, He can touch me anytime, anywhere, under any
conditions if He wants to. But so often you see that
He requires us to do something, to take the
initiative. He’s looking for our hunger, obedience,
and our willingness to be desperate. Probably the most
famous story is that of Naaman who had leprosy. He was
offended that Elisha didn’t come out to him, and then
was offended when he told him to go dip in the Jordan
7 times. It wasn’t comfortable, but he got over his
offence and went and dipped like the prophet said, and
was healed. You also see this so many times in the
gospel stories, so I just recounted 5 or so from the
Book of Mark. In each case they CAME to Him—the leper,
the demonized man from the tombs, Jairus, the woman
with the issue of blood. They all had to take the
first step and come to Him.
It was here that I brought up Lila to give her
testimony. We first met this 60+ year old woman down
in the Bay area in September. She had cancer and we
prayed for her. We also sensed that it would be a
gradual healing with much prayer. She and her daughter
have been driving up from their home for our Friday
healing services—many times a 3 ½ hour drive in the
Friday afternoon traffic! That’s desperation. But this
night she brought a written report from her doctor—no
cancer!! They had told her this wasn’t possible, there
was nothing they could do to bring about her healing.
What’s so wonderful is that it has been tag-team
praying. Almost everyone on our prayer team has prayed
for her, and she has made many new friends who have
been pulling for her and praying.
WHERE WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO GO FOR YOUR HEALING?
What would you do if you were Baptist, had cancer, and
your friend suggested you come to his Pentecostal
church on a Sunday morning to get prayer? That was the
dilemma facing a woman in our community 3 weeks ago.
She had received the diagnosis that she had cancer in
her back, up and down her spine. She had come to her
friend for prayer but he was working and said to come
to our church on Sunday. Logistically it caused a
problem because her church wanted to pray for her as
well, but it ended up that they stopped the service,
prayed for her, and then she was able to come to our
church just as worship was starting. The friend came
and got Carol and me and we agreed to pray for her
while she continued to worship. After about 10
minutes, she suddenly fell to the floor, then later
bounded up saying there was fire all up and down her
back. A week later she went back to her doctor for a
follow-up exam and he couldn’t explain it but here was
no cancer! And she told us she has had fire in her
back ever since. She came this night to give her
testimony (actually giving testimony to what Jesus had
done for her) and we prayed for the healing anointing
to be resident on her. Interesting that by stepping
out of her comfort zone, allowing God to orchestrate
the prayer at her church and ours, she was able to
experience the healing she needed.
HEAVEN WHEN THE 3 ELEMENTS COME TOGETHER
The second element is us, the Body of Christ called
into prayer ministry, partnering with God for healing.
Now, He can sovereignly heal us anytime, but the
majority of the time He chooses to use us as His
designated authority here on planet earth. We co-labor
with him (1 Cor. 3:9), we are His ambassadors (2 Cor.
5:20). We line up with His heart, we take the
authority He gave us, and we command heaven to invade
earth and correct the condition of the person. The 3rd
element is His presence. He is drawn to our
desperation, to our obedience and hunger, and to our
worship even in the midst of our troubles. He was here
tonight, so after worshipping again with 2 songs of
high praise, we went into a time of prayer ministry.
After all, there were people who needed prayer and had
taken a step to get it, we had people who were eager
to serve in praying for the sick, and we believed we
had His presence. What a great combination!
We had a great time of prayer ministry, healing of
bodies, hearts and minds. One testimony was typical of
what happened on this night. A woman said she wasn’t
going to even come, but then her fighting spirit rose
up and she determined the enemy wasn’t going to keep
her from the meeting. She had such severe pain in her
knees that she couldn’t even touch her kneecaps. But
after prayer and many tears of joy, she could jump,
bend and walk with absolutely no pain!
BRAZILIANS, AFRICANS, SAN DIEGO, AND FRESH FIRE
After some ministry at a small network of churches in
Kentucky, on Sunday the 27th we will be going to the
Assembly Of God church in El Cerrito for their Sunday
night service. This church is made up predominantly of
Brazilians and Africans—what a great combination. Then
off to San Diego for some R&R and perhaps some
ministry. Then back here to get ready for Todd
Bentley’s conference at CLC July 7-10. If you’d like
more info on it, contact Todd’s ministry at
