More Than Healings On Missions Trail
April 14, 2008
Medellin, Colombia & Philippines

Thoughts on the mission trail.  A team of 19 to Rio Negro and Medellin, Colombia.  Then to the Philippines, where we taught on healing at a ministry school of 40+ Philippine pastors and leaders, along with the students from our church’s ministry school, and 10 Australians from their ministry school.  Yes, God is pouring out His power to heal and set free like rarely before.   We’ve had the privilege of seeing these things for years now, but for many, it’s new or at a different level—like what’s happening at the Lakeland, FL meetings.

**So, I pointed at the woman and she clinched, went outside and threw up, got led in deliverance by one of our team members from 10 years of being a witch, and is now set free.
**A young man with diabetes was checked the next day after prayer by his doctor—no sign of diabetes!
**The broken hand with a pin in it moved freely with no pain—what happened to the pin?
**Five years of a young man’s arms being unable to turn correctly or bend because they had healed incorrectly, wiped away with a prayer.
**A young girl, 11 surgeries, never walked on her own, had to be carried to the prayer minister, walked for the first time!
**A liver tumor shrank under the hand—she had been facing surgery in a week—not now!
**In the Philippines, a man blind for 12 years could see after three students prayed for him on the street!
**A Filipino woman prayed for a woman’s blind eye during an outreach—and she saw!  That was so big, because it’s soooo against their culture.  Needless to say, neither one will ever be the same!

SPEAK INTO A DREAM—MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Yes, we saw all that and sooo much more on a 2 week missions trip—but this is what I want to share.  In Rio Negro, we got to encourage a Foursquare pastor who has taken a lot of heat for going after the gospel, having a dream, growing faster than the other pastors who have much smaller churches and have pastored longer—sound familiar.  We had mentioned to our coordinator that we would like to minister at an orphanage or hospital during the day if possible.  It spurred the dream of this pastor to begin reaching out to a very poor neighborhood full of kids who have nothing and no hope of having anything.  In the week before we got there, they had started a school and an outreach to these kids—all because our comment had blown on the dream in their hearts.

In Medellin, we walked into a church that has gone toward excellence in worship, a great pastor, many young people, but all desiring more.  I know we challenged them—they said they had never seen meetings like these.  But, I had a prophetic word for the pastor—read his deepest secrets and told of some of the things that were happening to him, and he couldn’t deny it was God.

One of the fun things for us was several of their key young leaders were with us all day Saturday.  They got rocked in their theology, got  baptized in the Spirit with speaking in tongues,  and became even more hungry.  Now, they all have choices to make—their dignity and control or more of God.

CULTURAL WAYS–BUSTED

In the Philipines we taught about taking the power and presence of God everywhere we  go, and then we broke the three nationalities into groups.  Many had gotten words, pictures, places, colors and it was amazing how accurate they were.  A treasure hunt, only they weren’t looking for the treasure, they had the treasure to give to God’s people—gifts of love and healing.  Culturally, the Filipino people are very shy about approaching others, and the concept of praying for someone you don’t know in public just wasn’t done.  And frankly, the same could be said about Australia and the US.  But oh my gosh, how the three groups embraced this challenge and how many were healed in the stalls and in the mall and in the coffee shops!  Finally, joy oh joy.  WE got to do this too in a very prestigious mall in Hong Kong on our way back to the US.  Carol and I encountered a young woman off the USS Kitty Hawk, limping thru the mall on a crutch with a boot cast on her foot.  Torn tendon, much pain.  She allowed us to pray, it went numb and then all the pain was gone.  Yes, this works even in the mall in Hong Kong!

After the Pastor’s Advance in Redding next week, we’ll next be in Sonora, CA for training on healing and deliverance.  Great church in a great mountain community—might be a great getaway for you—come join us.  Website for details.  Blessings.
